Christie, well and kindly spoken, indeed. I agree completely. I am dismayed and shocked at the bikini banner ads on my phone...I am constantly pressing "inappropriate" button to "advise Google" that this is WAY too much. I do not think that young women fully understand the visual they are presenting. The PLAGUE of pornography is desensitizing people. I detest it. I have not worn a two piece swim suit in decades, one piece only and even that is sometimes difficult. I stick to my bathtub and shower! Keep writing on this core subject, a needed one!

Karen here again. If I may add, even in this world things of value are not left laying around to be taken or trod upon. Precious metals and gemstones are buried within the ground. They take effort, time and commitment to reach. Advancement in one's career again takes time, effort and commitment. If a young man is interested in a young lady (I use the term 'lady' with intent), he will out in time effort and commitment to win her. Would he do that if everything she had was on display for all to see? I doubt it. I had boys not girls so I'm not certain I have any expeience to offer here. I will say that I told my boys that they would have to put some effort and energy into pursing the lyoung lady of their choice, and to consider whether her charms were available for all to observe. Whether or not they listened to thei old mom only God and they know for sure.

I agree with what you said. I have sons and daughters and we teach BOTH of them modesty. My family is frustrated at the double standard. Why is it ok for men to be half naked but not women? We feel as though modesty is for men as much as women, and yet men are not encouraged to cover up near as often as women. If at all! In our circles the women and girls are encouraged to cover up, but seldom are the men encouraged to do so. The heart issue is the same. Our men cover up and try to set the example for other men to do so as well. Women can and do struggle with the same fleshly desires that men do. I wish it wasn't such a one sided issue. Thanks for listening/reading!

Thank you for bringing it back to the heart, which is where it truly matters.

I agree that Christians should dress modestly. However, I have never enjoyed wearing a one piece bathing suit due to the challenge of going to the bathroom in a wet suit. There are modest two piece bathing suit with high tops and shorts that are much more comfortable.

Very true there are some two pieces that function as a one piece where they essentially cover like a shirt and shorts. That definitely falls under modest in my opinion as well. 😊

Thank you for writing this article to my question! I wrote a fashion piece if anyone wants some modest swimwear suggestions. https://arootedlife.substack.com/p/modesty-is-not-seasonal?r=28els8&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
